Leakhena is a resident of Ozaukee County who returned to Wisconsin after living in Virginia for over seven years. She is a wildlife biologist interested in furthering life-cycle conservation of species, and in landscape-level habitat conservation and management.
She is the Regional Wildlife Program Manager for the U.S. Forest Service, coordinating wildlife-management priorities across the Midwest and northeastern United States. She previously worked in the Migratory Bird and Ecological Services programs for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, focused most recently on conservation of priority habitats for birds in North America and elsewhere in the Western Hemisphere.
In her spare time, Leakhena enjoys her family, gardening, hiking, camping, and birding.
