WGLBBO Founder to Be Inducted into Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame

Noel Cutright (1944-2013) founder of the WGLBBO will be inducted into the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 30th, 2016, at the Sentry Theater in Stevens Point. The ceremony is open to the public and will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Dr. Noel Cutright devoted his personal and professional life to bird conservation, citizen science, and ecological restoration. He promoted research, science, and conservation initiatives of the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology and edited the landmark Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas. As Senior Ecologist working for WE Energies for 29 years, he advanced environmental projects within the energy industry.

For these efforts Noel received numerous awards, including a Lifetime Award for Citizen-based Monitoring from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in 2007, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gathering Waters Conservancy in 2010, several achievement awards from the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology, the first annual Lorrie Otto Memorial Award from the Milwaukee Audubon Society in 2011, and a DNR Special Recognition award in 2013.
