Sue Schumacher joins WGLBBO Board of Directors

Sue Schumacher is an ecological scientist who started her career with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. While there, she worked as a wildlife biologist, water and wetland regulatory specialist and naturalist. She currently works for We Energies as a Principal Ecologist Scientist. Her work has included a variety of tasks, including the capture and tagging of Trumpeter swans and Canada geese, habitat assessment for rare species, participating in the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects, assessing wetland functional values and restoring degraded wetlands, maintenance and monitoring of a 76 acre wetland/prairie restoration site, and research of bat activity at wind farms, among other things.

Sue received a B.A. in Zoology from the State University of New York - Oswego, and a M.S. in Wildlife Ecology from UW-Milwaukee. She lives in Sheboygan County with her husband and their dogs, a border collie and an Australian shepherd. A lot of her time is spent throwing a tennis ball. She also enjoys restoring her woodland/prairie property, reading, and traveling to see ecosystems in other parts of the world.
