Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory

Dr. Bryan Lenz Joins WGLBBO Staff

I'm glad to tell you about our newest staff member, Dr. Bryan Lenz. Bryan has already become re-established in Wisconsin (where he grew up) and as a member of Wisconsin's ornithological community, having moved back to WI this past fall, to take over the leadership of Bird City Wisconsin from Carl (who now chairs Bird City's Steering committee, as he also does for WGLBBO).

Bryan lived in in New Orleans for some years while completing his Ph.D. at Tulane University (2013). For ...his dissertation he worked for 16 months in the Amazon, where he "examined the impacts of tropical forest cattle ranching on the mammal community, especially primates, while also recording raptor sightings and data on the tree community. A long-time birder, Bryan continues to serve on the board of directors and the conservation committee of the Orleans Audubon Society." (from the Bird City WI website).

Bryan will help us enhance and expand our science capability, and help with management of our projects and grantwriting.. At least for now, he joins us on a part-time basis.
