I am so pleased to able to report this news to you: Two and a half years ago Noel and I began applying ABC Bird Tape (http://abcbirdtape.org/ ) to the northeast windows at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve. These windows had proven deadly to birds during both migration seasons. The northeast corner was particularly problematic. It took us longer than we had hoped to complete the task - partly due to the fact that the upstairs windows could not be addressed using a ladder. We eventually rented a scissors lift to complete the task, this spring. It has been an unqualified, 100% success. Our bird mortality has been reduced to zero, at least as nearly as I can identify collision-related mortality incidents.
